Chapter 2
By Goya Languages

Part 1
Back in 2010, I finished my degree in Modern Languages. I had spent 5 years studying everything related toĀ the English languageāfrom its history to literature, grammar, phonetics, theatre⦠you name it. I felt ready to move to England and finally put everything into practice. On top of that, I loved performing and couldnāt wait to dive deeper into drama and musical theatre.
When I arrived inĀ London, I took a train to Victoria Station. A friend was supposed to pick me up, but he showed up 30 minutes late. I remember standing there, completely overwhelmed by the number of people rushing through the station. Finally, he arrived and helped me withĀ my heavy luggage.

Part 2
The very next day, I applied forĀ a job at a coffee shop, and they invited me for a trial shift. Luckily, it went wellāI got the job! It was part-time, serving customers and sometimes helping the barista make coffees. My colleagues came from all over the world, and I loved practicing not only English but also French, Italian, and Portuguese with them.
Since I had evenings free, I decided to sign up for drama lessons at a prestigious school. It was an intensive course for foreigners, and I ended up being the only Spanish person in the group. That pushed me to speak even more English and step out of my comfort zone.
One of my biggest dreams had always been to perform in a Shakespeare playāand it finally came true. I had the time of my life rehearsing, learning, and developing my acting skills. In the end, I performed in A Midsummer Nightās Dream, playing Helena. Standing on stage in London was something Iāll never forget.
After a year and a half, I moved back to Spain to complete my Masterās degree. Still, my first experience in London provided me withĀ so much: a new perspective on life, the ability to adapt quickly, and a deeper appreciation for other cultures.
I didnāt say goodbye to Londonāit was just a āsee you later.ā But Iāll save that story for the next chapterā¦
